Akarki - Ancient Christian music and puppet street theatre morality play
August 29--19:00 - 19:45

The Lord will call anyone to account. He sends his faithful servant, Death. In desperation, Whoever first tries to buy time, then, realizing that this is not possible, seeks companions for the terrifying journey. Who will be the one to accompany him? Friendship? The Brother? The Wealth? Or the Good?
An inner journey of music and puppetry about the meaning of life, faith, beauty, knowledge and experience. What can we cling to when the time comes? What are the real values? What do we have to overcome within ourselves to reach the Kingdom of Heaven?
The text of the performance is based on a medieval mystery play, texts by ancient philosophers and poems by 20th century Hungarian poets. In a spectacular street theatre performance, the creators try to show the religious and cultural diversity that is reflected in the surviving relics of the early Christian Sopianae.
