Product club 1.0 took place on 12 December 2024 at Cella Septichora.

The event was opened by Márk Hummel, Managing Director of Zsolnay Heritage Management Nonprofit Ltd., who welcomed the audience and said that the Cultural Route Best Practice Award, which was awarded for the first research and development activity of the project, is not only a great honour, but also an opportunity to promote the results of the project on a wider scale.

The programme featured the following technical presentations:

Introducing the #RomansWineDanube project - Eszter Szkotovics, International Project Manager, Zsolnay Heritage Management Nonprofit Ltd.

Presentation of the Roman Emperor and the Danube Wine Route and the Product Club - Daniel Poulet, World Heritage Officer, Zsolnay Heritage Management Nonprofit Ltd.

Presentation on the objectives of Product Clubs and Product Club membership - Prof. Goran Petkovic, University of Belgrade

The presentations were followed by a round table discussion, where the participants presented the institutions they represent (Pécs Municipality, Pécs Bishopric, University of Pécs, Baranya County Gastronomic Cluster, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, etc.

A Product club vol. 1 was an important starting point for discussing the importance of our common heritage and the experiences we offer to visitors, and also served as a first step towards future collaboration with participants from different sectors. It was agreed that one of the priorities for the future is to develop an action plan for the development of local tourism and to integrate it into a wider strategy at international level.

Effective discussions were held on tourism development and sustainable tourism solutions, as well as on the Festival of Rome and how to involve the local community, local artists and local producers in its implementation.
