Gatherpilar concert - Sopianae edition

St Stephen's Square Pécs, Hungary

Launched in 2023, Gatherpilar is an ever-evolving series of musical collaborations where a commitment to jazz meets the momentum of tradition and contemporary music.
During the concert, the musicians will work with musical material that has a common basis in variability and the possibility of using a free musical language. It is this freedom that allows different traditions, genres and eras to come together, transcending familiar boundaries to create a new, living musical fabric.
The music of the region from Persia to the Balkans has always been at the crossroads of cultures: the Middle East, the heritage of ancient and medieval empires and the rich traditions of the Byzantine Empire still define the region.
