Ludus Funebris<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

An acting performance brings to life the distinctive figures of the ancient Sopianae cemetery, telling the story of the people who once lived there. At the Cella Septichora tomb, we meet the mimic who accompanies the dead on their final journey, and who, in keeping with Roman funerary tradition, tells the stories of famous Roman characters with exaggerated gestures and joking turns of phrase.<\/span>
\n<\/span> In the memorial chapel of the Kors\u00f3s tomb, the mourning widow comes to life, and through her tears we learn all about the relationship to death and funeral rites in the late Roman period.<\/span>
\n<\/span> In the space of brick tombs and sarcophagi, the archaeologist emerges, who sees the history of bygone ages through the glasses of the omniscient 21st century.
